I Guess that this is Goodbye*

Day 31
You Again.

Goofing around the other night.

Love them.

This is the last entry of my photo challenge.
I hope someone enjoyed it! I had fun with it. I just might do it again!

Nature Boy*

Day 30
Nature

I like both of these, I could not pick one!
Hiking at the Rose Bowl and at the top of Mt. Wilson.
There were many surprises in moving to the Los Angeles area, but one of the biggest had to be the proximity to nature!  We have a reserve nearby in Pasadena and we've spent the day in Griffith Park. The Rose Bowl is about 3 minutes from our house and is full of gorgeous spaces to walk, run, bike-ride, etc. The drive up to Mt. Wilson is stunning (God's earth is healing after a huge fire two and a half years ago).

...you'll still be waiting in refrigerator heaven*

Day 29
Inside Your Fridge

It's a little crazy after the Superbowl mini-party we had, but here it is.
I do like that I only have natural or organic in my fridge at the moment.
All bought on sale and/or with coupons.
That's one of the biggest objections I get from people about coupon shopping:
"THERE ARE ONLY COUPONS FOR FOOD THAT'S BAD FOR YOU."
I dare you to say that to my fridge's face.

*Okay, this is not the most charming song, but I had to use it. That's how I roll:

Don't change your mind You're wasting light*

Day 28
Light

Taken at the LACMA at sunset.
Sometimes it's so hard to live in Southern California. ;)
I'm not sure what the sculpture was named, it was a Greek god with a bow.

...it's on the table*

Day 27
Lunch

Cheap organic pizza from Target.
If you're curious about cheap organic pizza atTarget (or coupon shopping your way to free items!), you should check out Totally Target.

I want to drive you through the night, down the hills*

Day 25
Something I made.

Nothing says Happy Birthday like a cool banner.
I made this for Cameron's birthday week (yes, we get the party started early here) yesterday.
It's not like I can leave the house in my awesome car with my non-revoked driver's license (between bad drivers in LA & cool medicine-induced seizures, these things happen) to purchase craft supplies. So I had to use what was here.
I downloaded the Drive font aka Mistral. Found a fan art image of the scorpion & made my own hammers (maybe the most threatening & mob involved banner ever?).
Between being a mom, cleaning up and hanging out with Tiffani, the birthday banner took up most of my day. I had to color the words & scorpion with crayons, because our color printer is out of ink.
I think it turned out alright.
Cameron likes it.
I'm sure the Driver would approve by nodding silently.
That guy doesn't say much.

Spin the Black Circle*

Day 24
Guilty Pleasure

Music that I like that Cameron doesn't.

It's the simple things that are so hard to grasp*

Day 23
Something Old

A picture of my Granddad, Jesse Berry.
I never met him, he passed away when my Dad was only 19.

I have this one picture of him. I keep it in a frame on our entertainment center.

P.S. When my Grandma Berry receives mail, it's usually addressed to Mrs. Jesse Berry.
I always thought that was sweet even though she had been a widow for so long.

*Heaven, The Fire Theft

I had some brand new shoes. They were all red, but they gave me the blues.*

Day 21
Your Shoes

A jumble of my shoes.
I was thinking of showing you just one pair.
Isn't this more interesting?
:)

I USED TO LIVE IN A ROOM FULL OF MIRRORS*

Day 21
Reflection

Our dresser & mirror.

If you're curious here's what you're looking at:
An old mirror I painted a few years ago.
My jewelry stand from Forever 21.
Perfume bottles (including White Shoulders that was my mom's).
Books, LOTR & This Momentary Marriage
Vintage Avon bottle
Jewelry box from the Philippines
Ben Kweller poster

*Room Full of Mirrors, Jimi Hendrix
This song includes the most 60's lyrics ever:
In the meantime, which is groovy time.

Breathe Out, So I Can Breathe You In.*

Day 20
Someone You Love

I know this is a picture of my entire family.
Josiah is looking extra cool in a picture he'll groan at in his later years.
I wanted to put this up as a picture of Cameron.

Before there were kids, before there was an apartment to live in, a car in our name, a shared bank account, wedding bands, etc.
There was Cameron.
I met Cameron on a whim/blind date (my whim, not God's).
Many know the story of when I saw his reflection and thought
"If that Cameron guy doesn't show up, I'll go talk to that guy."
Lucky for me, the reflection was my future husband.
We clicked, in all the right ways.
We were engaged 4 months after meeting.
Married a year and day after our engagement.

When thoughts of romance, friendship & a godly husband come to mind, Cameron is all of those thoughts.

Both of us carry one word with us wherever we go.
Can you guess?
C'mon.
Seriously.
I bet you know what it is.

Everlong.

His wedding band is engraved with the nonsense word and my foot is tattooed with it.
Everlong is for someone I love.
My only love.

We're talkin' 'bout love in a different light And if we all learn to love it would be just right *

Day 19
Sweet

Valentine's Day will soon be here!
A sweet little holiday snuggled into the middle of winter (for most of you out there that is, it's 83 degrees here) that brightens classrooms & a few homes.
I started working on crafts & decorations today.
Here's the kid's coarkboard that hangs near their easel & art supplies.

All of the printables were found via Pinterest & they were free. Even the font, Witness, was free from Mars Hill Church in Washington.

Pretty sweet.

*Yes, I chose lyrics from a dc talk song. I'm that awesome. dcTalk- Luv is a Verb

Your Pursuits Are Called Outstanding, You're Emotionally Complex*

Day 18
Something You Bought

My chevron striped journal.
I have a penchant for chevron stripes.
I had them on our Christmas cards.
I want them all over my house.
When I saw this little journal, I snagged it.
It was on sale at Target & I was in need of a new Bible study journal.
As you can see, I personalized it like a stoner from 1980
The Zep is never wrong.

This might seem a bit silly, but when I look at this I see my desire to be a put-together wife & mom (the hip, chic chevron stripes). I also see my inability to do that: writing Led Zeppelin on the side of a Bible study journal.
It's a visual metaphor for my life.

And after the storm, I run and run as the rains come*

Day 17
Water

Today lends itself to the photo challenge.
It's pouring rain & has been all day.
Here is the view from our bedroom window.
I'm going back to fort building & reading. :)

If it's not too late for coffee, I could be at your place in ten.*

Day 16
Morning

I am spoiled this morning. :)
If you're curious, it's an Americano, over ice.
Sugar free vanilla & non-fat milk.
I've been told that it's sometimes referred to as a "Why Bother?" since it doesn't have sugar or heavy cream.
It's heavenly.
My wonderful husband brought it to me.
He knows what I like & how I like it.

In the Room Where You Sleep*

Day 15
Happiness

Cameron reading to the kids at bedtime. It's blurry because I had to be a bit sneaky. :)
Happiness.

And when I'm doing well, help me to never seek a crown. For my reward is giving glory to you.*

Day 14
Something You're Reading

The Book of Ephesians.
In the life of a Christian, one can become overly concerned with what we're doing for God, not what God has done for us. We become prideful, hypocritical, and smug. This is where Ephesians comes in handy. Paul writes often of grace as a gift. This gift is lavished on us by a loving God through the work of Jesus on the cross. Our lives are then filled with the Spirit. We had nothing to do with it. On top of that, our own salvation is not for our glory in the end, but God's. We are the ones taking part in His inheritance.
I am reading out of the ESV Study Bible aka Self-Defense weapon in case of break-in.  This is one hefty Bible. The ESV is indeed a brawny book, but it is a most helpful book. The notes are easily understood,  there are charts to compare with the rest of God's word & maps. Oh, there are maps.

I know that I MUST be reminded of my need for Christ, that I did not "get myself" to Jesus. He graciously came for me. He is my first love.

What's in my pocket (book)?*

Day 13
What's in my bag?
I knew my comforter was the perfect "background". I saw it last night on New Girl, draped over bus seats.

Here's what you're looking at:
Cute brown & yellow flower wallet.
Maroon journal (well-worn)
Earbuds that I paid $4 for.
Coupon accordion full of coupons & receipts to send into Endorse.
 Loose dolla-dolla bills, y'all!
Bath and Body Works lotion.
My super darling make-up bag from my sweet friend Denise.
Free iTunes download from Starbucks.
A few of my face prep goodies: Dior mascara, LaRocca champagne shimmer, MAC lipgloss, Spackle primer, Benefit The Porefessional.

Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Is In)*

Day 12
Close-Up
Special cameo by Dave.

That's as close as you get. We don't have water right now (they are re-piping our building) & I can't wash my face. I still have Disneyland spread all over me from last night's visit.
If you are curious abou the rest of my fabu outfit, here's the run down (break it down now):

Nirvana shirt from Target. You'll notice a certain drummer photobombing.
Floral print shorts from Target as well.
Under said floral shorts, footless tights in black to tie the outfit together.
Socks from Disneyland.
I'm about to put on my Converse. Black of course.

Don't be jealous of my style. I know it's really, really awesome, but I don't want to make you all feel bad about what you're wearing.
